Saw a post on another site saying AirNow is looking for Shorts pilots...Any current Rattlers out there to confirm this?
I was just at DDH and was also told that shorts are on the way! Caravans are going bye bye (except for the ones they own). But as with all things in aviation, you never know till it shows up on the ramp.

As I’ve said before, do your job and you’ll be fine.

Not one rep from Airnow went down there not even Skippy, to me thats not right and what does it say for Airnow.

Well one thing in that statement is correct. Not one rep but at least 4 Rich, Skip, Dave and Michelle. I know for a fact those four went to the funeral.

I no longer work at AirNow but while I was there I gained some good experience and some great friends.

Wow any details?? Replacing Caravans with Shorts? Which Shorts?
Yup, It’s true. I think it’s the 360 versions of the shorts. I was told that most of the Caravan runs would become Bandit runs and most of the bandit runs would turn into Shorts runs. Dave told me early on (when I was there) that the operational cost of a bandit on short hauls come out to about the same as the Caravan. And as those who worked there know, when a Van was pulled from a run, more times than not a Bandit was on the run.

When I was up there one of the vans was in the shop for some major rework. Apparently, one of the pilots was taxi’n on an access road and hit a fence post. Thought it was a snow bank and added power. The result was a the post ended up half way through the wing (hit about 5 feet from the end) and the plane swung around and trashed the prop/engine. What a mess.

looks like the 18th is going to be a big payout day for airnow. :)

Two bits of advice

When dealing with Airnow , look out and be very, very careful. My mother always said if you cant say something nice just say nothing. An ex rattler
