Folks,
Got the call from AirNow for the interview. They gave me 30 hours to prep. Help! Anyone know what the interview is like? Any ideas on the appch procedures they use in their sim check? Any specifics would be great to get. Thanks in Advance.

Hey, a guy at our flight school just had the interview last week. He said they didn't get very technical but threw him in the sim right away. He said the sim was a 182RG and he flew a NDB approach. He said the interview lasted about 4 hours total. That's about all I know.

Thanks for the info. Did he get the job? Which school? Figure on doing some NDB's today in our sim. Appreciate the help.

Yea, he got the job. He's leaving this weekend for training. We work at a flight school in Providence, RI.

You'll meet with Mel (HR lady), and Skip King (CP) and maybe a line pilot or two. Casual, laid back style. Be yourself and answer the HR questions honestly. You'll probably meet with them for an hour or two with a few technical questions. Just basic stuff. FAF on ILS, Alt mins, DP's, and the like... There is a sim. You'll do something in the Albany NY area. An ILS maybe NDB a missed to a hold. The sim is a computer with a yoke/pedals and separate radio stack. It's almost like flying FS2000.

Skips looking for someone who can work well within the system, that is, dispatch, UPS and other customers and other pilots. He wants people he can train, will take direction, and can think for themselves (being a freight dog and all).

Good luck.

I appreciate the info. Spent some time today in the sim at our school (at HPN) flying NDB approaches. Heard good stuff about the outfit all day. Looking forward to the interview. !st interview for a flight job that isn't a flight instructor gig. Gonna be fun.

I'll let y'all know how it goes. Again, thanks for the help.

Just to let you all know: I went to the interview. The people are great. Met Mel and Franz and Tony and Robin. Very nice, very professional. The facility is spotless and the aircraft made my mouth water.

Also, as this was my 1st interview at this level I learned alot from the check pilot and from the board interview. I hope to get it. Good, well organized crew of people.

Thanks for all your help.

Fellas,

I have used aviationinterviews.com to prepare for interviews. There's great info on there for each company. Starting a page for Airnow might not be a bad idea so this info doesn't get lost.

I plan on putting in an application with them soon. I'm not a CFI which I understand is recommended, but I think I have plenty of experience. I'm just looking to stay in Maine and, with some luck, fly out of Portland or Auburn-Lewiston. That's my story.

If the person who went on this interview could email [email protected]

and tell him (should be mike) that you'd like to add AirNow to the list of companies it would be appreciated. I've done this before for a company that wasn't listed and it atleast gets some info out there. Just say that you had an interview with the company and would like to post the gouge, and he'll add it to the list within a day or so - then you can log in and post the gouge.

maybe we could get together and you could dress up in that cute little dress and we could go out dancing. Then come back and have a romantic dinner and then Fu#k?
Hey, thanks for the offer. I’m going to pass, but if you save up a little cash I’m sure there is some guy out there that would take care of you. I guess the rumors about you and fat chicks are all B.S. It’s really fat guys… :)

If you get the job there you better have good life insurance, just ask D.Nelson's family.I think TJ quoted some othere pilots on that befor but he is no longer there.I wonder why?? Just dont become one of Skippy's pilot's and do things that your not suppose to do. And you can tell which pilots are those ones on this site. Just dont dick around with there crap for what little pay your going to get and the crap that they ask you to do. Its not worth it ,nor is your life or your license. Just remember the first night you take off into the crap by yourself and things dont work in your plane that you really kind of need just remember D.Nelson and his family and the bullsh-t that Doug and some of the other pilots went through working for this outfit. We all love to fly and thats why where here, but use some common sense if your going to work for them. And stay true to the Far/Aim thats what its there for. Good luck and God Bless

Good life insurance would be a good idea if YOU choose to shoot an ILS below minimums with one engine and full flaps. I’m sure there is something in the FAR/AIM about that one. You Maine losers just have bad attitudes.

Another pissing contest when someone was just looking for info.

First let me say a quick hello to S2R, this place is not the same with out you and keep in touch.

Second let me address moto74 and thebest. I have read this site often and have kept my opinions off the screen, however it is time that I say something. I knew DN as well and considered him one fine human being and one heck of a pilot. I cannot and will not ever play Monday morning QB to his tragic last flight. After all there but by the grace of god goes us all. I go out there everynight just like you two. Fly the same equipment and with the same company just like you two. However there seems to be one big difference between you two and myself. I TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY OWN ACTIONS!!! I don't sit here on a public site and whine and moan at how bad this or how bad that or whether you should have life insurance or not. Heck if you drive a car you should have life insurance. Anything can happen at anytime. In the two plus years that I have flown for this company I have never been forced or for that matter even slightly encouraged to fly anything that was not legal or break any company or federal rule or regulation to get the job done. If you don't like it here or feel that this company is unsafe take responsibility and LEAVE!! I am sure with the immensley positive attitudes that you two fine pilots display on this web site day in and day out you can find a flying job anywhere. Well there you have it, my two cents or maybe 25 but I am done now. I welcome those new hires on and wish them luck and patienly await another inane and unprofessional reply from thebest!

I only speak of the truth, unlike all you Skippy pilots out there and you know who you are.How many people went down to Dougs services in RI from AirNow.Not one of you guys did and you say he was a good friend of yours.Your bullsh-t and all your post on here are too.Not one rep from Airnow went down there not even Skippy, to me thats not right and what does it say for Airnow. So dont sit here and tell everyone how great it is because your a F-ck up and belong flying crap like that. And why was Doug going to Bennington insted of his alternet cause they new he had lost an engine and they were going to hide the fact as they always do.

Oh by the way on tuesday I watched a Rattler taxi in on one engine. Must have been practicing those single engine landings.

That's some fine mx at airnow.

Just remember to have your life insurance paid up.
