Anyone know why Airnet's online application system tells me that I'm not qualified? From what I can tell, the fact that I don't have a single engine commercial invalidates me as an applicant. I know you are flying caravans now on some routes but is no CSEL a real barrier to an interview? I would think holding 8410's and having a lot of actual time would get me through the door? I would hand my resume over to TEB operations back when I was flying brokered runs for airnet but now that that business is over for my outfit I don't have the face to face contact that could get me the interview.
Or, is it worthless to pursue Airnet without the single engine commercial? I have been concentrating on finishing up the ATP ASAP instead.

They require C-ASEL. Period. They need to be able to place you in any equipment, anywhere. They set the rules and applicants have to play by them. ATP won't help get that job, but taking a commercial checkride in a 172 will.

Wow, made it to 2500 hours with no flight instructing huh? Good Deal!

Yeah, I would guess your complications are due to the fact you don't have a Commercial ASEL. Either that, or your times don't add up on the app, IE SE+ME=TT and SE PIC + ME PIC = TOTAL PIC, ETC.....

I have heard in the past that they hired people without a Commercial Single and had the person take the checkride during training if awarded the Caravan, but I think that was all a while ago.

Good Luck

Yea, got there by getting my company to pay for travel in my own plane and then an out of the blue 135 C-310 job. I guess I'll have to take the time to get the single commercial. Thanks for the advice :)

with the ridiculous amount of applications they get....airnet doesn't have to bend their own rules about qualifications like they used to (in regards to Comm SEL).

Isn't it amazing how many meduim-high time pilots would love to work for Airnet? It must truly be a good place to work. Sure, you have to slug it out for a while flying a baron but it's nice to know there is a jet fuel burning plane in your future. I
just got the airnet 10Q, does anyone know what they are doing with their 310 fleet? I'm wondering if the FAA is going to crack down on 310 spars like they did on the 400 series? The financials still list something like 19 310's in the fleet.

Don't quote me on this but here is the info I have on the C-310's (Not much info). I know that they are, or have sold 5 or more as of last month. They canceled a couple of runs in the midwest because they had barons on the runs, and they needed them to cover the routes they lost the 310's on (among other reasons for canceling the runs). Thats about all that I know about the subject.

Yep, selling them off...simplify the fleet.

They cancelled all of the DAL props to move them to BHM as well.

You guys ever have a Baron vs. 310 race? I assume they were all R models, fast little things. I once raced an aztec with a 310 on one engine and beat him! I would imagine the baron could do the same...

Getting rid of the 310's is all the more reason to get the single commercial I suppose. ATP ride is in two weeks, I'll get it done after that.

p.s. airnot = airnet...my bad

hmmm, that would be a close one. the 310 had a better climb rate and usually had a better ground speed IMO. the baron picked up more speed in the decent though.
