Just got the call

Interviewed tuesday and found out yesterday that I will have a class date sometime in Dec, tenitively. What to expect? Any info is appreciated.

Dude, did you really fly Fat Albert?????

You think you might be able to "borrow" a few of those JATO rockets for me? I promise i will give them back...:p

JATO Bottles

I was the flight engineer for Fat Albert for three years. Did all of the maintenance and flew center seat just about every show. JATO bottles are getting to be a thing of the past, I think they have enough bottles for the next year and that will be the end for the JATO BLAST during the air shows. Current day costs for new botles are 4500 per bottle. Imagine the public reaction to seeing an aircraft blow 36,000 dollars per takeoff!

There is a story on the internet about some ya'hoo that put a JATO bottle on the top of his car and lit it off. Nothing left of either the car of the dude except for a smoking hole in the side of a mountain.

I have two bottles ready for the Baron so that I can keep the packages and checks "On Time"
