I'd say that Airnet's training is very thorough. I'd also say that it is a fairly structured environment.
At times it can seem like you are drinking out of the proverbial fire hose.
When I wen't through, we did spend most waking hours doing something involved with the training process. But, we did find a few hours each weekend to do something non-related. I think it's important to not get yourself phsyced out about it.
I personally can not compare Airnet's program to the Military. I do know several people going through now, or have gone through training in the Military services. It is Intense, and it lasts for what, 2 years almost? I've also been in two different 121 training environments and would say that Airnet is pretty comparable. I will comment and say I thought the Initial Pilot Training program and Upgrade Training at the 141 Program I previously worked at was a little more structured and standardized than Airnet's.
Overall, I'd say Airnet is on par with most of the 121 world (I have no other 135 experience, but from talks with other 135'ers, I'd say it may be a better).
Craig is the Pilot Recruiter, he is no longer the Director of Training. Although, they use some videos from his day in that role.
On another note, just read all the memos. What should be made about the repeated references to a "Five Night a Week Airline"? (I already work 5 nights, I don't mind, I just wonder whats going on...) It's been in several of the past memos.
