I figured as much, just have to stand up for some of my friends out there.;) For some reason, the further to the east you go in this country, the more of a wonder the west is to people.

Back to your question...the best thing to do at ANY company when you start is to lay low, talk with as many of the current pilots as possible to learn the ropes, and try to figure out who is safe to communicate things to. This goes for any company out there. As for training, study, fly the sim, study, fly the sim....and make sure you have a few relaxing breaks in there so you don't get burned out. Also, don't get your mind set on "aceing" training, rather just try not to make the same mistake twice and relax, it is TRAINING so mistakes will be expected in the beginning, but should be eliminated rather quickly for an experienced pilot.

Anyway

If you do get on with Airnet, and you are lucky enough to fly with Walt.
When you do your Baron checkride, on final behind the fictional 757. Reach over and open the door on the Baron, he is going to do it anyway.
It will save him the trouble as he is old and infirm now. Save the old bastage the work...Remember he is mad because there are no more Aerostars.

If you are ever in CLE they all worship the old Asst. Chief. as he used to clog every bathroom they had.
