When you upgrade at Airnet (to the Lear), are you required to sign another training contract? And if so, how much and for how long are you locked in?
 
No you are not required to sign another contract. You'll get typed after a year even if you're still a copilot. Still no training contract after the type. Hope this helps.
 
Are you guys finding business outside of checks.I know somebody said that you lost a big contract out Denver.I see that your hiring but you here all of this doom and gloom.Also how quick are people upgrading to the lear?
 
Upgrade to the Lear is about 12 to 18 months! Pic.... one guy recently upgraded after 7 months, but I think he got lucky! He bid on a run that nobody really wanted. More realistically it's around 12-15 months.

About AirNet's doom and gloom........... We are moving to a new facility on the 13th of may (LCK) and yes as a result of Check 21 we are seeing a lot of restructuring out west. I think we still have a good two years for our managment to find business to pick up the slack.
 
Will it be hard for management to find more business?And is it another year to upgrade to the left seat?
 
Hard Q to answer, I think the business is there, but it seems like our Top management is more interested in Jetride (our pax charter side) and then you have some of our share holders a "little" upset about this and demanding our CEO's departure. We have some interesting times ahead of us and while I think AirNet is still going to be around for some time..... I have started seriously to look elswhere for employment (besides I'm about halfway to my 1000 PIC so it's time).

And yes it took me a year...(August 2004) and most of the other guys had about 7-13 months in the right seat!

Whats wrong with selling the company? New owner might be really exciting.

Airnet is a public company traded on the NYSE. Any time there is any news regarding the company ie: earnings, profit/loss, shareholder actions, company up for sale, etc. it is immediately disclosed to the public. Just go to to the yahoo! finance page and type in the ticker symbol ANS and get all the info you want.
 
How many pilots that don't fly for Airnet would go to their website to see that they announced they are going for sale. Above that how many would come to a aviation website and post it for everyone to see. I guess my whole thought is that I am surprised that a employee would be brining attention to it.

This is PUBLIC knowledge not only for every employee of the company but for the general public and the thousands of shareholders out there as well. Not to rant but there really isn't anything being disclosed on this board that isn't already common knowledge. Almost 100% of the time the employees hear something of importance regarding the company it's normally as a result of a public SEC filing or a press release.
 
I knew from the press release and Yahoo Finance that Airnet was for sale three days before I ever say an internal company memo regarding the matter. And what is the big deal about spreading the word? Keeping it quiet is not going to deter any potential buyers. I am quite sure that potential buyers do not frequent aviation message boards to gain info about Airnet.
 
What percentage of AirNet Lear drivers continue on to Jetride to fly the Lear 60? Is there a direct path? Is this a popular option?
 
Why don't you go to companies websites to keep up with information???? IF i am so interested in a company that i read all the posts about them here on this board then why not go to their website and learn everything you can about them. The few companies i would like to eventually go to i always check their sites to see what the latest info is on them. Besides, as has been said already, it is public information easily found on any finance website by checking the stock symbol, or as has been said as well it has been in the papers.
