I've read a fair amount about Airnet, and decided last month to go ahead and submit an application on their website. I know I still have around 400 or so hours before I can reasonably expect to get a call from them, but the email I got in response to my app said I should update my app monthly.

Unfortunately, only a few days after I submitted my app I suffered a gallbladder attack which landed me in the hospital for a few days. I have surgery scheduled for the middle of next week to have my gallbladder removed, as the doctor said there's close to 100% certainty of another attack at some point and a 50% chance of another attack within six weeks. (So for obvious reasons, I haven't flown since the gallbladder attack.) I figure it'll probably be about a month after surgery before I'm able to return to flying.

So here's my question. I only had maybe three hours since I submitted my app, and if I resubmit at one-month intervals my second update will be nearly the same as my first, and the next one will likely be EXACTLY the same hours as the previous one. However, I was instructing over 50 hours a month prior to the attack, and expect to get back to that in a few months. So should I bother to update my app with Airnet in the meantime, or wait until I'm building some hours again? What's the best course of action?

Concentrate on getting healthy again and don't worry about your app..... Update every 100 hours or so..... and if you haven't applied yet, wait until you are able to get back to flying, because what if they did call you for an interview and you were laid up recovering from the surgery and couldn't make the trip??? For the time being worry about staying healthy, worry about keeping your medical.... I wish you the best of luck and speedy recovery!!!

Thanks, MrPink. I hadn't thought about what happens if I get the call while recovering from my surgery. I submitted my app in late December and was going to update monthly, but I guess I'll wait until I'm back flying again.

no problem bro, just take care of yourself and your health. Airnet, from my limited experience, seems like a good solid company and will be around when you are ready to go!!!

Get healty first!

Since I got hired with AirNet in 2000, the company only stopped hiring for a couple of months right after 9-11.

Get well AirNet will still be here when you are healty again!
