Has anyone ever done the internship at airnet? What does it entail? Is it a flight internship or are you the chief pilots biatch? Either way I would like to get some information it looks like a pretty good opportunity? Thanks for your help.

This is the first I've heard of it. I'm sure it's no different than other intern programs in that it's more of an opportunity to get your foot in the door and show your interest in the company. I seriously doubt they would put you on flight status in any capacity since you still have to go through their training and get a 135 letter. I don't know, maybe they'd let you runup a baron? But when you get your time up sounds like you'd have a huge advantage over the other applicants.

As far as I know, the internship involves working with pilot recruitment for a while before eventually going through the initial pilot training program to become a prop SIC.

I could be wrong though.

Work at Flight Express, they pay better, same airplane, plus you dont have to go though that ridiculous we think were FEDEX interview process.

Um, excuse me, but we don't think we're Fed Ex. And it's probably only a ridiculous interview because you couldn't handle it.

Ridiculous interview? We think we’re FedEx?? Wtf? What kind of moron would come on here promoting one company while trashing another? Sounds like another one who was successfully weeded out. They’ve been doing this for a long time and know how to spot the ones to not waste time on.

Yeah, well they let one slip by (me). Haha.

The above is definitely flame bait. Same equipment and better pay at FXE?? Seriously, is this Francios???

Let it go. We all do the same thing. The pay may be slightly better here, although I think that's largely dependant on your run. The equipment is not the same. You start on a 210 at FLX. This is all on the web page. Airnet is by all accounts a good company for which to work. There shouldn't be a pissing contest here. Similar companies. Slightly different equipment, slightly different pay. Do the research yourself and make the right decision for you. I can't speak for Airnet, but we're hiring.

Regards,
Boris

Do you ever post anything useful psysix? Every post I have seen of yours is nothing but flame trying to get a reaction? I am mad at myself right now for even typing a response.

I heard they make you fly through thunderstorms and known icing at Airnet. Is that true?
Thunderstorms and ice are two different things.
No one there will make you through a Tstorm. Some starcheckers do, but only by their own choice.
Ice is different, but it is still your decision. If you were in a known ice certified baron they might want to talk to you if you elected to stay because of moderate ice. Severe is another story, especially if you are in a Caravan.
Dispatch will try and push you. Remember they are not pilots. They are sitting in a room at LCK, not in the left seat.

When I did my stint at Airnet, I was based in BHM. There was one day where a huge line swept across the country and it was impassable around the north or south. The only way was through it. It was level 3-5 embedded and about 100-150 miles wide. In any case, I went up and tried to look for a hole with no radar and queried ATC for help finding a hole before I finally put it down in Columbus, GA. I left 3 hours later and completed the mission. I was late, but I completed the mission. I was never questioned by any chief pilot about the incident. I never had any problems with the high ups because for 99.9% of the time I was doing my job and getting done what needed to be done. There was one person I know who made it a habit of diverting/turning back at every little thing. They didn't last long, but it was them that finally left (They were not fired). I'm at a good regional now and I really miss flying at Airnet.

Wouldn't it be funny if like 50 people answered yes to that? Is that what you expected? Comeon, man use common sense.

i flew through ice and tstorms at airnet. we've been in business over 20 years and no one has died from a wx related accident. that being said, no one (of consequence) is going to bust your balls about not going into dangerous wx. people's definition of dangerous varies though.

Being in a learjet with G007 when the brat guy is in town.....

now THAT'S dangerous!

C'mon, G. 1974-2006 is how many years??? ;)

Well, technically it's still a true statement since he said OVER 20 years. You could even say we've been in business over 10 years.
