hi all,
I am planning to retrace the airmail route between Chicago and new York. I am curious what information is available from people on the internet regarding existing airports, historical stop overs, ect. I'll be tracing the route in a light aircraft. I appreciate any information anyone has.

AM routes

There is/was a website somthing like

www.airmailpioneers.com, not for sure if that's right, but very similar.

Also try google and you might find something. I-80 is basically the old airmail route.

Interesting stuff though!

Good Luck.

EDIT: Correct Link:http://www.airmailpioneers.org
