Air Wisconsin

The Air Wisc review was interesting. Times must change. In my day, fourteen years ago, Air Wisc was a destination airline for many pilots.

Now, wouldn't it be nice to see a website with positive reports as well.

I believe both the Air Wisconsin posts were by flight attendants. Perhaps the website should have people state their job title. I'm a pilot at Air Wis, and although it is not as good a place to work as it used to be, it is definitely not amongst the worst.

I was given as much time off as I needed when my fiance's grandmother was taken off life support and passed away. The flight dept. was very accomodating. The story that one poster left about their father passing away sounds just like the inflight (flight attendant) management.

I would certainly never want to work as an FA for this company, but the pilots have a much better situation.

I agree with rightrudder... I noticed some reports from mechs and others.

I was surprised to see the Air Willy comments as well...I don't work there, but when you have guys that leave Mesaba to go to another regional as a lateral move, it says something.

Would you want to work for a company that treats ANY of their employees like that?

I don't have any control over how the other departments treat their employees. If I was working with an FA who was treated badly I would of course stand up for them. If these people were treated like this, it is not right. however, I am not going to quit my job because the inflight dept management operates like a group of vindictive high school girls. This is the problem when you put uneducated people with no real experience in how to manage people into positions of power. The way this will change is when the FA's put an end to it, either by standing up for themselves through legal action, CBA language, or walking. Money is a big motivator, if you have a bunch of folks quitting over such issues, perhaps there will be a change.

I've never worked for a big company so I don't understand any of the dynamics here. Apparently the pilots and FAs are under different management. Still, isn't there management at the top that oversees things as a whole?

I wouldn't expect anyone to fall on their sword over something like this, but if I heard many similar stories about how a company treats its employees I wouldn't go looking for a job there. The company I work for always gives personal leave for situations like a death or serious illness in the family.
