This is going to hurt B6 the most! Perhaps Jetblue management should look elsewhere and grow into new markets that don't include JF'nK! Just a thought!

Maybe they are going to bring in a few controllers from ORD to show them how it is supposed to be done

Many folks confuse the superb ORD controllers with the several traffic separation waivers in place for ORD that do not exist at other airports.

If ORD can run 3 miles in trail for approach, and launch airplanes from intersecting runways between arrivals (not unlike DCA), then by God every major airport should be able to do it.

ORD has 7 runways, JFK has 4. Shut one down, it's really like 1 because they never use more than 2 at a time unless under ideal conditions, it's going to be brutal. The guys at LGA and DCA are really pushing tin and run circles around the rest.

And what happens when they close a main runway for an extended period at one of those airports?

Could have easily been a runway in ATL, BOS, EWR, ORD, LAX...

A few years ago they were building RWY 8L/26R at IAH. Everyone was excited about getting a new runway. That is until they simultaneously opened it and closed the parallel 26L for resurfacing and repairs. There was also a period where they closed RWY 15R to lengthen it significantly.

It slowed things down somewhat but the controllers and the crews dealt with and adapted to it.

It happens. Concrete is not forever. Especially with 55+ tons hitting it repeatedly every day. Even more so with my landings. :D
