Agate Program

Currently most every "expert" is snickering at the proposed "air taxi" idea behind the research driving the Agate program...

The old axe about "build a better mouse trap" holds true for any service based industry; take care of your customers or your customers will take care of themselves.

Point to point routes and "free flight" is where it's all headed. Carriers who've saddled themselves with gazillions of dollars in hub and spoke terminal structures will lag and wither.

it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming years. obviously if Skywest is the second place airline at LAX in terms of Takeoffs and landings, and is growing, why would a pilot want to jump to say United (number 1 at LAX) ? certainly not professional stability. pay of course. the times... they are a changin.
