You mean March of '96 as compared to March of 2010.. 12 years different?

well that's pretty freakin easy.. more planes are flying.. airspace is more congested... more cars going in that tunnel, so to speak

airlines aren't padding their schedule.. they develop the block off historic block times.. they've been creeping up for years.. but padding? nope.. just takes longer... now if you want to answer the question of WHY, then that would be a worthy cause... the airlines aren't making the block longer just for ********************s n giggles, though...

Um....hate to be a stickler, but that would be 14 years different. No wonder airline managements beat pilots up. We can't freakin add and subtract.

Airlines should schedule like the cable companies, We will arrive sometime between 2-5. Will that work, No, we have 8-11 tomorrow or 12-3 next week......

Also take into account that 14 years ago oil was $20 per barrel so flying fast and burning extra gas was no big deal. Sans 2010, its all about fuel savings so flying slower also compounds the time. Anyway who cares.. if its scheduled for 2:30 but takes 2:15 everyone is happy. If its scheduled for 2:10 but takes 2:15 then everyone complains. Pad away.
