Either way, most of the photographs that get on A.net are pretty good lately.

photography geek hat on;

The lighting and texture in the first one is good but the photo violates the "rule of thirds". In this case, the violation is the horizon dividing the photo into a top and bottom half. This waters down the photo's energy. Had the photographer put the horizon on the bottom 3rd of the frame (a top third horizon wouldn't work unless the ramp had more texture), the photo would have been much more interesting and even dramatic.

Photography geek hat off

Thank you WabiSabi. I think most would agree with you. The exposure in that first photo is actually pretty good but the composition is off (no symmetry). The photo has an infinate depth of field and begs the question: What is the subject? The sky or the Seneca? That picture is not great but it sure is better than most crap on airliners.net.

i cant believe how heated the debates get between airbus and boeing fanboys. youd think they are all on each companies payroll or something

Im no photography expert but I think that first picture is great and I have no problems with the way it is setup
