I was just reading some posts on Airliners.net, about "possible disasters avoided". The gys says the plane would have crashed if they didn't abort because the flaps were set wrong. Then this other joker goes on to tell about how the winds were "way too strong" one time so he started freaking out and screaming for the FA to tell the CA to abort! "I knew we weren't going to make it." hahaha, what a bunch of losers!!!
any thoughts about airliners.dork?

I gotta read this....where at in the website?

nevermind, got it....

"Several years ago when I was still amazingly *scared* of flying, (I'm now training to be an airline pilot, how ironic) I was on a NW DC-9 and one of the ailerons was fully deflected while taxiing. I pushed the flight attendant call button to ask if that was normal! I was afraid we'd severly bank to the right on take off and crash.

Last year I was flying Delta and I was worried we would be making a single engine take-of. The pilot literally started engine #2 as he got the clearance to take off. I was a weeee bit scared on that one."

Nice......

"Personally if I were that guy and I saw that the airplane was rolling and the flaps weren't set, I'd jump out of my seat and rush the cockpit, that way they'd HAVE to abort takeoff. I'd probably be arrested and jailed, but the lives saved would be worth it."

Not that I'm the brightest, but it's a serious dorkfest in there...

Um yeah. Great pictures+Developmentally disabledXpilot wannabees= Airliners.net

But, in all fairness, we have our share of flamebait knobs over here. At least they know how to have fun on reserve or on a computer where someone hasn't logged out.

I thought SOP was to start #2 after takeoff? :D

Wouldn't you just love to be in this guys flight training class. I'd imagine the pranks being pulled on this putz are hillarious!

I love the photos on this site, even though its techno-porn. But outside of the photography forumI can't belive the stuff these people say.

On the other hand, if we could find all the chicks on this site, we would be busy for months!!!!!!!! Us way cool Flightinfo.com "Proffessional" pilots would be cream of the crop. I propose a hostile Flightinfo.com takeover of airliners.net!

After reading about 1141 I'll be in Jail with ya.

Delta flight 1141(?) out of Dallas. The one were the pilots were trying to bang the FA, and forgot to set flaps.

Well we didn't think you would rush the flight deck anyway fletch. You're to laid back.

And what would you call yourselves?

Yourselves? You mena ourselves right?

We have a pretty good mix here. We have informed dorks, we have tools, and we have plenty of flaim bait, among other species unknown by humanity.

Oh, we're dorks. But at least we don't talk about doctors all day long, and take pictures of hospitals. PS, we drink more too!

Do we get to say what we are....... or does everybody else determine that for us? For example, I'd like to nominate myself for an informed dork slot.

A good friend of mines dad was on that plane...lucky man he made it out alive.

Dont forget, on airliners.net in order to be a member you have to pay like $20-$30. Nothing but flame bait and a$$holes over there. Good pictures though.
