no you don't need a type for a PA44..it's anything with takeoff weight over 12500 or turbojet (or anything else the administrator feels needs a type rating). FAR 61.31

Flamebait? Hardly. I'm actually surprised with Delta hiring that there isn't anyone else with questions regarding this app.
I flew the PA-44 for a dozen sorties a decade ago. After looking at the FARs I still can't determine if it requires a type. It looks like you can GET a type. But is it required? Seems there's no clear cut answer.

Ok Maverick... I takes it back... it aint "Flamebait" NOT!.... sorties is a military turm... I doesn't thunk any Air Force had a PA-44... bouyyyyyyyyyyy...
