Man this is the 5th jet to go down this month alone. What the heck is going on up there?

The incident itself isn't funny, but the quote I saw from the authorities down there was:

"There was a wind shift. This plane did not crash. It made an emergency landing."

Maybe I am missing something, but didn't it "touch down" a bit less than 2 miles from the runway? Is that spinning this just a bit?
