I will say that it also was not what I had expected but it did have some funny moments.

I thought that the C.O.S. (customer of size) was humerous especially after he was made to purchase another seat and then went to get something to eat and walked away with TWO meal containers and a "Biggie" drink.

I see this every day when I fly. I thought the LAX Supervisor handled things really good with the smelly pax.

I will never forget, years ago (before 9/11), we had three guys sitting at overwing in the emergency exit row. The FA's were doing the demo and when the FA at overwing went to do her cabin check, the guys had their tray table down. She asked them to put it up and proceeded to check the rest of the cabin heading toward the back. When she came back up, the guys at overwing still had their tray tables down. She went to put the tables up and noticed the guys were giving each other hand jobs and would not stop!

She came up and told us, we had to go back to the gate. By the time we got back to the gate, they had done their "duty" all over the back of the seats in front of them! They were heard, as they were being escorted off the plane, "better to get off before we get thrown off". Had to switch planes and send the a/c in for an intense cleaning.

I think it would be a much better show if the crews and ground people could tell stories about things that have happened to them. Like the time the rampers were unloading a flight and had a bag that fell off the belt loader and out popped a giant dildo! Or the runaway teenager that was giving another passenger a blow job on the way to LAS and neither of them would stop and the crew had to call the police to meet them on the ground upon arrival.

Anyone else have any stories like that?

...it was at that moment that Sam knew he was destined to be a flight attendant. I mean, do the math, he's 35, single, etc.

Hugh - you are a riot!

Unfortunately, I had all female FA's on the flight and they were not amused.

I finally figured out how SWA makes so much money - no pilots! In the first two episodes of Airline I saw, nonr. Guess that's their cost saving secret!

Actually, this show is a US version of a British show called Airport, shown on Discovery Wings Channel. (great channel, btw). I think that it was mentioned somewhere that Airline was a spinoff of a British show. If the British show is any guide, we'll see very little actual flying or operational detail. Lots of CSRs, screaming pax, and pax getting on airplanes.

The show was a bit of a yawner, as what goes on at the ticket counter and gate area is nothing new for us, or even people who travel a lot.

I do give the rep in LAX a lot of credit for handling the C.O.S (Customer of Smell). Honestly, I can't see another airline giving the passenger a new T-shirt and pants.

As a former ramper...

Puke was always the worst. Sometimes they would be courteous and hand you the little bag as they got off the plane. Somtimes you would find the bag sitting in the seat, and worst case they never made it into the bag.

One kid stuck his gum all over the window.

And then there's the issue of how baggage is handled. After working the ramp, I decided that I would never check my own bags unless absolutely necessary.

I give my endorsement to that hard sided Samsonite luggage. Expensive, but it never busts open.

The band Survivor's ("Eye of the Tiger") giutars missed the connection once. I wonder if they ever got to do the show.

I've seen rotting fish from INL that missed the connecting flight, and sat in the heat for hours.

So many memories...
