I was just wondering if there was any reputable help out there on the internet as far as taxes and being an airline pilot is concerned. I am new to this whole gig and I figure there have to be some real smart people out there willing to share some good info with everyone. Types of question I have are things like deducting Crash Pad rent, utilities, per diem, cell phones, computers, and that sort of thing. Thanks in advance with any help you can provide.

I've used Flightax.com in the past and they were pretty good. I now do it myself using Turbotax. Once you figure out what you can and can't take for deductions, it's pretty simple...assuming you don't have any other complicated tax issues. Crashpads aren't deductable, but layover expenses are. The IRS limits for layover expenses are higher than what your company pays in per diem...probably. If you do international or layover in New York, Boston, LA, etc a lot, you can get a pretty good deduction.

Good luck.
