Driving Records

I have my Airline Apps novel almost complete except for the driving infractions section. Does anyone know how to get a hold of your records. I have an idea of the when and the where but not exact dates or location. I am presuming that this section should be filled out complete and correct. Any advice would be helpful! If this thread has been posted before please be gentle, I am the new guy! Cheers!

Call the dept of transpo in the state you live. I don't remember if they actually had the info, but if I remember right, they did point me in the correct direction where I finally did get the data I needed. I had a speeding ticket when I was a young LT in pilot training, however since they only kept data up to 5 years old, my record showed clean. Hope that helps...

You can see if you have any hits in the NDR by doing this: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/people/perform/driver/

I don't think it shows moving violations other than DUIs, Reckless Driving, etc.

If it helps, I've been told by two company's recruiters to be as complete as possible and get the dates as close as possible. Nearly all of my tickets were 10-15 years ago and I just guessed with no recourse to date.

Find out how far back your driving record goes before you list tickets that no longer exist. You can go to the local RMV and pick up a copy of your record. Most states are 5-7 years with some at 10 years. When you ask for your driving record from the RMV that is the exact one they send to employers. There is no reason to tell them about tickets you had 15 years ago. They are taken off your record for a reason. You can get a complete history of your driving record that goes back 20 years or so but only you can request that not an employer.

Good Luck!
