Just coming over chicago news outlets, unknown what type of aircraft at this time. Aircraft has supposedly slid through perimeter and onto Central Ave.

ABC 7 in Chicago is reporting it is on the corner of 55th and Central Ave.. just Northwest of the field.

Yikes!

Slight tailwind for 31C, heavy snow possibly ice, very low vis and a short runway.

Uh yeah... that's ALL the runways. Takeoffs only on 4R.

Holy Sh#t SWA pilots are instrument rated and can fly the airplane off their instruments and intruments alone, they are infact professional pilots.

All this time I was thinking SWA fares were so low and restricted in distance because they only hired VFR commercial pilots. Makes me feel better about flying with them now, thanks CNN for clearning that up for me.

one CNN associate appearantly talked with a survivor of the crash, wouldnt that imply there were some that died?

Why cant I stop watching these idiots talk about this?

It's Anderson Cooper, he just sucks you in...

what's southwest doing using a northwest runway? don't they know it's not a good thing to break new ground?

Does anyone else find it amusing that Anderson Cooper keeps saying "we don't want to head down the road of speculation"??

Also, "the nose gear of a 737 is no match for a car." Hmmmm......

This lady by no means represents anyone that lives in Chicago Not all of us are as stupid as this lady. "Its like a 911 but no explosives thank God"

Anderson Cooper is a moron. I love how the CNN website is reporting that the plane made a "hard landing"...as if that was the cause of the crash. If I were landing a 737 on a short runway in blowing snow you had better believe my landing would be hard too.
