As I understand it, the AFM is specifically assigned to a individual aircraft. What do you do if it is lost? What is the first year they are required? Would a 1968 cessna 150 require one?

If anyone could clear this up for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Contact the manufacturer. Pay some serious money. Wait a couple of months.

March 1, 1979 per 14 CFR 21.5.

An AFM? No.

However, the aircraft would require applicable placards and operating limitations to be post and available in the aircraft.
