Upcoming aircraft purchase has us doing some aircraft comparisons. The aircraft considered are: Twin otter, M-28 Skytruck, Shorts Skyvan, Casa 212 and the Let-410 UVP. We are operating out of 800-1000 foot airstrips and need something that will handle them in the summer (often 100-120 degrees). Most flight lengths are 3 hours roundtrip with a few being 5 hours, but we can refuel in between. Performance input from pilots who have flown these types is highly appreciated. Thank you.
 
Not sure what type of ops you are intending, but you might find certification issues with the Let and the Skytruck

You might want to look into the NEW Twin Otter 400 series being built by Viking in BC. They bought the rights to put it back into production. It has the -34 or -35 engines and a 1200 ft STOL takeoff over 50ft (shorter if you drop the weight of course). -kingaira90

Casa 212 depends on what engines you have. If it's the Garretts they don't work as effeciently in those types of temps. You would do better with Pratts in those temps.
