I just got a call from Air Wisconsin today, called them back and now I am waiting for the return call. I don't know anything other than what I got from their website, equipment and bases:

Denver, CO
Chicago, IL
Appleton, WI
Atlanta, GA

Pulled their payscales off another site, but can anyone here offer me any inside stuff good or bad? Which bases are junior and senior, and anyone know about upgrade times. Also, how big is AWAC in terms of fleet size?

Any info is appreciated.

Do a search and you'll see there are lots of changes going on here. They just closed ATL and DEN CRJ bases and are opening IAD, so crews are getting moved around quite a bit. Here's a quick summary.

Fleet (no planned expansion)
18 BAe-146
70 CRJ

First year pay = 22.32 per hour
check airlinepilotcontracts.com for the full scale.

Upgrade is distant to say the least. They are quoting 8-10 years with the current fleet (no planned growth) and attrition (8-10 per month). However, I would expect nothing under three years and more like five for upgrade. Things will change in a few years and there will be movement and/or growth.

Base seniority is unknown for the moment until the pending adjustments are finalized next week. Rumors are that IAD will become the junior CRJ base and ORD will be senior. DEN 146 will be very senior and ATW 146 is Capt senior and FO junior. So it should lay out something like this for FO's. Most new hires are going into the CRJ.

DEN 146
ORD CRJ
ATW 146
IAD CRJ

Again, nobody knows anything for sure. Good luck.

OOps...

Rough crowd...hope you are more prefessional in the cockpit than here.

What is the average age around here?

To the individual who respondes maturely, thank you.

Griz Shutup,
Geez it's always guys like you who have to jump someone else just so you can be smarter, better, cockier than someone else.Give it a break man.Ohh BTW my flame suit is on and fully charged, Bring it on baby.

Gee Griz,

I am glad to know that you have never made a mistake like hitting the incorrect place on a web board. I feel so safe knowing that you are error free and flying around.

Griz,

I really do not want to get into a pissing match with anyone. To my knowledge the board is supposed to be a convenient way to share information. I made the immature comment because it does seem sort of childish to jump on someone whom you have never meant because they hit the wrong link or made a spelling or grammer error. I am human and there is always a chance I might make a mistake at 2 or 3 in the a.m. after a long day. In any case the first gentleman who responded gave me enough insight into the company to get started.

It would be nice if people would be a little kinder around here, we are all pilots why can't we be decent to eachother?

As for the "cans" and the GED comment. The avitar was a little joke for one of my coworkers I fly with. I took it down, it was meant to be an inside joke. The GED, well I don't think that deserves a response.

Griz - and others like you, please try and be a little easier to get along with, o.k? In this business, networking is very important, I think it would be great if we all had to use our real names here. I bet all the "flaming" and smart comments would stop then.

>>>BTW my flame suit is on and fully charged, Bring it on baby.<<<

Heh heh heh.... 'Round these parts, I hope you're wearing TWO flame suits.

SIX

IT APPEARS THAT SIX IS THE MAGIC NUMBER. IT TAKES AN AVERAGE OF SIX RESPONSES TO A QUESTION ON THIS BOARD BEFORE IT BECOMES A FLAME WAR OR A PISSING MATCH. HOWEVER ON THIS THREAD AND SOME OTHERS, THE FLAMES CAN BEGIN IN AS LITTLE AS 3 POSTS. PUUUHHHHTHHHEETTICCC!!

PS..I WROTE IN ALL CAPS SO SOMEONE COULD FLAME ME FOR IT!

Oh yeah, back on topic.

One of the guys I used to work with just went to Air Wisconsin. He was on reserve only two weeks, and already is a line holder. He is pretty happy, although the long upgrade time seems to be wearing at him. If you would like I can pick his brain and repost with more information.

Hey! I didn't see any cans on his avatar!?:(

False advertising...TC

Hey Dr. B,

how long after you submitted a resume did it take to get the call for the interview? Did you have an internal rec?

No I wasn't a pilot for GK Avn (Team 6),

I submitted via the website and fax as is my usual custom. I don't know anyone at AWAC, hence the reason for starting this thread (albeit in the wrong forum), so I had no internal referrals. I send out tons or resumes so I can't say for sure, but it probably took around 3 or 4 weeks to hear back from them if my memory serves correctly.

The regionals that called me back the quickest were.

1. ASA - 2 days
2. Comair - 2 weeks
3. Eagle - 3 weeks
4. Express - 1 month
5. PSA - 1 month
6. AWAC - 1 month?

Not sure if I even really want to go the regional route, I have other things I am working on.

hey moderators: Why don't you actually use that copy/move function and move this thread to the correct forum.

DR. B,

Did you find out all you wanted to know about Air Wisconsin? I don't care that you posted it here(under Fracs), just let me know if there was anything you wanted to know about. I will be glad to help--everyone here has definately been great at answering my questions.

Did I miss something?

Unfortunately for you Dr. B, reading is a requirement......

So is the proper use of grammar, "Griz". Read on.......

.........that this is forum is for discussion of fractional ownership companies.

Huh? What? Speak English fool; you're in America now.

I might suggest looking for a forum that has "Regional" somewhere in the title.

Now, maybe it has been moved since it began, but this IS the "Regional" forum. If it has been moved, then I apologize in advance. At least you can openly read my apologies; unlike the big, bad “Griz”.

Enjoy the rest of your discussion.

LTG:D :D

I dont understand how someone is tired of the long upgrade at AWAC already. He obviously has been there at least a few months and they are still hiring. If he got hired last fall he is at least a line holder now. Where would you go that is faster?
