Does anyone have info about Air Tran? A friend of mine was hired there and is looking for info on contract/union/work rules/pay etc. Thanks to any info anyone may have.

Hi!

I actually was hired at AirTran.... had a training class lined up, had my uniforms ordered, took the physical, yadda yadda yadda.... Then I opened my eyes and realized how GHETTO of an airline it is! So I declined training.

But anyways... They start off for the first six months at $18.56 per hour. 70 hour guarantee.

More questions?--- Head over to FlightAttendants.org and check out the AirTran F/A board.

keep looking! There's a "not too obvious" link to get free access....

And you thought working for Hulas was better?? That is hilarious!!!

Ren--

y'know what.... I'm not gonna defend the "greatness" of TSA... cause honestly, it's NOT great! But TSA did pay me my full guarantee while I was in training, didn't make me pay up front for uniforms, I held a line in 2 months, and now after a year and a half-- I have holidays and weekends off, 14 days off a month, etc. That ain't too shabby. Sure I would leave Trans States in a heart beat-- BUT ONLY for something that pays me better and is nicer work environment.
If I worked at AirTran, I would have to work with ghetto flight attendants, while at TSA I don't HAVE to work *with* other ghetto flight attendants who work here. If I worked at AirTran, I would have to serve passengers who are used to taking the bus and not a full service airline. At Trans States, I get the pleasure of serving some people who are actually kinda classy! So you see, for me coming from TSA, life is better here for me at this moment of time than it would be at AirTran.
And before you start bashing my professionalism and skills as a flight attendant because I've stayed at Trans States for so long.... I'm on my way out the door.... I have an interview on Monday with Continental, and I'm ready to knock 'em dead. Cause I'm JUST THAT GOOOOOD!!!:)

Only because you were taught the ways of the world by the Master himself!

OH BABY!!!

I remember the time....
