Will there be a job announcement this year for the "Air Traffic Control Specialist Trainee" for those with no prior air traffic control experience and those who did not complete an Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative Program (AT-CTI)?

No. They just did a quarterly staffing update, and stated that there will be no more PUBNAT's (public hiring windows) for the rest of Fiscal Year 2010.

In my opinion, public off the street hiring is over. In order to get in now you have to attend a CTI school, or have prior experience in ATC, etc.

I took the test in Dec, never took a class or CTI program. I am just curious when theyretgoing to start interviews for those of us that tested already.

PUBNAT-8 applicant here.

I took the test in late Oct. 2009 and received my GeoPrefs email just yesterday (Aug. 19, 2010).

yeah, me too. I guess we will see what we see. Good luck to everyone!
Good luck appears to be what is needed most. I'm starting to think the folks in charge of hiring have a prize wheel and a dart board: they spin the wheel to pick an applicant and throw a dart to determine their placement. :)

I sure would love to know how to start a carrier in the ATC industry. Hope to here from you guys. Thank You!
