Just got a call from AirNow today from Melany. Seemed like a good operation. Just was wondering if anyone had anything else on the downlow about the accident and what went wrong and how the quality of life is over there. Really i would just like a decent place to work for the next few years.

"Next few years???" Most people bail out as soon as their contracts expire!! :) AirNow is not a BAD first 135 job, pay is around 18-21K, most of the runs are out at 7PM back home at 7 AM with an overnight in a company crashpad. As far as flying broke stuff its unfortunately its a pretty common practice there. But, just dont do it! The CP will back you up if its something you cant do legally.
Upgrades are really quick as stated earlier. The norm was usually 300 hrs of turbine or immediate if you have some multi time. Hiring mins are 1200 TT and ME rating. YES its true about some of the E110 captains had less than 10 hrs multi when they started.
Looking back Id probably go back there again, Id like to think the experience of flying single pilot IFR in all weather has made me a better pilot.

Thx for the info T-Rex. Just did the tech interview over the phone today. not sure if i'd call it much of a tech interview. All he asked was FAF on ILS, How do you know when to file an alternate and your at DH on ILS and see the ALS what can you do? So that was all fine and dandy. They seem to like drummers over there. I had in my resume that i was a drummer in college in the marching band and both of the people i've talked to so far are drummers kinda wierd. But we shall see what happens. I don't think i'll mind the lifestyle at first because #1 its a job and #2 i stay up until 4 am constatnly anyway. I'm a night owl.

I did an interview with them and i think it is a great place to work, everybody was very friendly and professional. I would highly recomend working there. Let us know how it goes.

Maybe that Pinnacle crew should have had more "single engine work" experience.

I missed this gem when I first read the thread...

Please shut up about things you know nothing about.

Whats the gouge on the interview? I know it will probably be the standard stuff but a little inside info never hurt and it helps qualm my fears.

It's not bad. They asked me HR questions, about my students, the kind of instructing i had been doing (they love active CFIs), tell me about yourself, what do you want from us, a get to know you kind of deal. For that part just be honest and be yourself. After that they asked me stuff on the Jepps, both approach plates and low altitude. Then i had to fly a couple approaches on a PC simuator, and also a holding, not to bad, just be up to speed on your scan.
Pretty good interview and a great group of people, PM if you have any questions.

Thx man appreciate it. They seem quick to get back to me and told me they are interviewing in 2 weeks so we'll see if i get a date or not.

What are "guide lights"? I did a partial phone interview (had to be cut short) and was asked that question. I have never heard of guide lights in my flying experience or in studying for the ATP written. Did I hear the question wrong?

135 minimums

I was checking out the minimums listed on the AirNow website today. They just say that they want 135 IFR minimums. Is this because they are a single-pilot operation? If so, is there any kind of rt seat program there?
