Airnet Reg Question

Does Airnet fall into "Commuter Operation" as defined by part 119?

You need to spell Airnet correctly on the thread title.

I know. I saw it after I posted it. I tried editing it. It's fixed once you're in the thread, but it won't correct it from the outside. I thought it was just my system.

No, they are a 135 operator.

Per 119.3 I understand that if the same round trip flight happens a 5th time in a week it would be a Commuter operation. I haven't found anything limiting that to only pax flights. I would think (from my experience in other businesses, witch are not aviation related) that even though Airnet flies only four nights per week that occasionally an identical round trip could be flown a fifth time, thus qualifying it. That's qualifier one. Qualifier two is it would have to be a scheduled operation. I'm unsure if Airnet has enough regular stops to be considered scheduled. WAIT! I just read 119.3 "scheduled operation." Boy was I way lost. (just wanted to keep that blurb in there if would help somebody else as hyper-analytical as I.

Commuter operations are part of 135. (i.e.135.244). One doesn't rule out the other. But commuter is a PAX thing.

My problem is that my rote memory cache is filled with SMACFUM and TOMATO-FLAMES-FA. And with all the questions I get asked on a daily basis about regs and weather, my only hope is to get it past the firewall and into the longterm memory of understanding.

You have to fly pax before you can be a "commuter".

HAZ-MAT is right...rules don't matter...especially if your callsign is "Starcheck"...you really don't realize that until you move on to another place...man the rules are killer!!! They really limit the "fun" factor of flying anymore...I still love the job, just really wish i could get some of that type of flying back again.

Maybe you could enlighten us on exactly how cool you used to be by telling us all the rules you used to break while being paid to act as a captain? You're definitely holding down the "hanging out in the wrong forum with the wrong avatar seven months after the fact" transgression with authority.

And no, going faster than 250 below 10,000 does not make you a badass.

MEOOOWWWWWW!!! Pull those claws back in there little kitty...

First off there is nothing that says i have to change my avatar "imediately" after leaving a company, i'm still trying to find one that works for me, hell it only took four years of being with Airnet to finally get a decent one...and by the way it has only been six months.

Second, if there is one thing i have learned from my new position it is the fact that the FAA can come violate you after the fact...and yes even months down the road if they find suitable reason. So for right now do you really think i am dumb enough to go listing possible rule infractions on a public board for all to see?!?!?!?

And Third, you too have broken regs to get the job done, everyone there has...so being cool must just be part of the job then huh?!

My friend, in order to break the regs, one would have to know and give a crap about what the regs actually say. :)

I know precicely who PA31 is. And believe me, he's not that fast.

I can outrun his butt in a Caravan. :pimp:

At least I am speeding away from your butt as opposed to what G007 would do.

Tonala2k..I have no idea who he is, but apparently he isn't too fond of my response, although there were others who said the same basic things i did.

My hope is the PA31 is nice enough of peeps, just bored that day. Either that or a very poorly trained FSDO operative trying to extract info from the flying population.
