I'm interviewing for a job with ALS in Lakeland, FL. Does anyone know if they're a good, bad or ugly place to work?

Thanks

Congrats on the interview! You will need to know your sh!t to get hired. Memorize the terps. And CFR 135.

I worked there for two years. They are the most professional flight department I have ever seen. The CP is a great guy. Very easy to work with. DO is very bottom line oriented, but will not compromise safety for any reason. They really are committed to doing things by the book all the time. They will fly the crap out of you, but pay is reasonable, and you will always get legal rest periods and days off. Most of the pilots are furloughed 121 (US Airways, United, American) pilots. They pattern their ops after 121.

The equipment is maintained perfectly, and they have approved MELs even for the King Air. They are Wyvern approved so they get lots of high profile clients and supplimental lift for Netjets/Options. My first charter when I started was John Travolta. They have flown Sammy Sosa, Luciano Pavarotti, Warren Sapp, John Lynch, lots of others. We did all of Bill McBrides campaign flying when he was running for FL gov...

I cannot reccomend them highly enough. I would still be working there except I didn't meet Wyvern requirements for Captian and wanted to upgrade. So I had to leave. I would be happy to go back one day. I still hang out with the pilots PM me if you want to get some phone numbers or something.
Good Luck!
