Do you have to be a member to go to an air inc. job fair? Can you just go to a job fair and that way avoid paying for seminars?

I checked their website and $150 seems a bit pricy. Is there a cheaper way to go there?

Waste of time & money. Join & attend Women in Aviation & OBAP. The WIA job-fair is in February in MCO. The OBAP job-fair is in August. ZP

Isn't Women in Aviation for women?

I think it will be very awkward to attend their seminars being the only men surrounded by women. Kind of feeling of being unwelcomed, like going to a male strip tease joint, being the only male along with the peformer ...

Why do you know what that feels like?

WAI conference

Flying-corporal - You’re wrong!

I agree with Z-pilot - WAI caters primarily to women but all pilots are invited. Also, OBAB caters mainly to black pilots but guess what? All pilots are invited. At the last WAI conference I’d say at least 30% attendants were guys and personally I didn’t feel “unwelcomed” at all. I was actually impressed with the conference, thought it was much better organized than Airinc.

However, you’ll probably hate it – I didn’t see any strippers! ;)

Do a search under Air Inc, you will get the good, the bad and the ugly. A lot of pilots will tell you it is the best $150 they ever spent. A lot of interviews come from the meet and greet on the floor.

Agreed, 100%. WAI puts on an incredible conference, you will be in the minority (but a guy can get used to that after about 5 minutes, believe me), but you won't be looked at as weird/perverted. No experience with OBAP, but WAI really does do a top-notch job with their event. If anyone ever doubts you, just let them know that Chuck Yeager is a member...and nobody badmouths that guy.
