I have both my Advanced Ground Instructor, and Instrument Ground Instructor, and I wondering if I had to renew those after any length of time (like you do your CFI certificates.)

I've looked around and can't find a definite answer about it. And if you do have to renew them, does it take the typicaly 8710 to the FSDO?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It is my understanding that ground instructor certificates do not have to be renewed. There is however a recent experieince requirement described in 61.217
Hope this helps.

BGI/AGI/IGI certificates don't expire, but as jim noted there is a currency requirement. If you give ground instruction under your CFI ticket (which you probably have), this will account for the required time (assuming that you have given over 3 hours ground within 12 months..not a hard accomplishment).
