AME stated that you will be required to pass a stress test at age 55 every phsy. if the age 65 rule goes into law. The FAA is not just going to change it to 65 without some type of checking system in place. 9 mins running on treadmill with wires attached.....

GET IN SHAPE NOW!!!! if it passes..

Get ready to take pay cuts, the airlines has to finance the extra senior pay some how....get ready...

A periodic visit to your cardiologist is a good idea at any age really. There might be some serious things you aren't aware of. I knew one guy who flew for years with a heart murmur and never knew it.

I went through a entire battery of tests including the stress test (which is a bitch) and got a clean bill of health. This was also about 8 years ago but I still get an EKG during my GP annuals. I'm under 35 but getting close.

High BP runs in my family at young ages, luckily the doctor caught it before my AME did. It sucks haveing to take drugs at a young age(and knowing I need to work out regularly) for it, but I am told by my AME that I will be healthier in the long run. Catching things like this early will save you a huge problem down the road.
