Great with the inevitability of "peak oil" in the next 9-15 years and the age 65 rule; our careers have really been screwed.

Those people that screwed our future and mortgaged our livelihoods only care about one thing - themselves. Thanks geezers. I nor my children will ever be able to enjoy any sort of retirement. Oh well our economy is headed toward ruin if we get another Bush at the helm. Keep buying those SUVs and voting for idiots that don't understand our need to conserve.

"Peak oil" is a complete fabrication of freak-as$ anti-capitalist morons! Of course oil is a limited resource, but we are probably talking at least 100 yrs-worst -case......

There is more oil under the Arctic than all the known reserves on the rest of the planet! It has just been too expensive to get to it-and it still is...for now.

P.S.-the last time these idiots wheeled out the "peak oil" saw was in the late '70s-and curiously enough all the carbon-dioxide back then was leading to a huge "Ice Age" crisis. Same exact cause-totally different crisis! Anything they can dream up to blame on the U.S.!

-Anyone who ever references "peak oil" is just as huge a moonbat as a person who runs around screaming "neo-con."

I think you'll see single-piloted aircraft under part 121 pretty soon. It's not a big leap in technology for the next generation of aircraft to come home as an emergency UAV if the primary (only) pilot is incapacitated. Routine UAV operations in the NAS will be approved before long and the cargo bubbas will be the first ones to go fully autonomous. From what I have experienced, we pilots are trained as robots to perform the final link between ATC and movement of the aircraft. Seriously, how many decisions are still made by the PIC?

Give me a break My father made about half of what I do over his career and my parents were able to comfortably retire this year (he just turned 60). Quit playing the victim and take control of your financial future instead of waiting for someone to hand it to you on a silver platter. It takes some research, learning, and dedication but if a pilot can't put together a decent retirement even on today's average earnings then I have no sympathy for you.

For the record, I'm very much opposed to the new law but it is what it is so get over it and get on already.
