I forgot to put in the above message... Premiums for my $250,000 term policy are $12/month with AAFMAA.
 
as an airline pilot I actually found vgli to be okay. I considered AFRB. (armed forces relief and benefit). I took a policy with both.
 
Clarify USAA

I'm not recommending USAA one way or the other, I'd just like to clarify my previous post, they don't charge extra for airline pilots, just light aircraft flying. I could save some bucks if I gave up renting PA-28s. Sounds like some deals are to be had out there, shop around and do what's best for your situation.
