AF will scrap entire T-3 fleet

maybe the FAA should ground the entire Bonanza fleet, since they have killed so many doctors.
 
Why wouldn't Cessna want to capitalize on this and create an aerobatic 172 for the AF?
 
Argh, this makes me nuts. There is no engine problem that cannot be corrected by replacing it with a different piston engine, or even a light turboprop. If the airframe and aerodynamics of the T-3 are fine, they should be salvaged or sold, and a new engine installed.

Cessna offered to make NEW t-41's, but the airforce declined. The competition for this contract was INTENSE, there was at least ONE very good offer (the SF260), and Mooney had a great offer too, but in the end, it all came down to politics. For my money, I would of bought the SF260.

The mooney was a cool looking thing, a MSE with a bubble canopy.
