Thinking of adding a 73 ype while sitting around...Aeroservice any good? Thanks in advance.

Don't know much about the 73 program. I have flown the 727 sim and it SUCKED. but a 737 type rating boils down to price if they have the best price and a fed will sign you off why not.

73 Type

Aeroservices(MIA) shot me the best price of $6995. for a type on a 73-300. Flight Training I'ntl, (DEN) $7150., on 73-200 and High Power Aviation (DFW) $7495., on73-200.

I'm trying to use WIA funds, so I can't be picky.

If you're spending your money, my advise is a type is a type as much as a dollar is a dollar.

Went through 747 training there and the facility was pretty sh$^#y. The sim worked OK for my partner and I, but a couple of other guys in my class had to finish there training at Pam Am because of malfunctions. But if the WIA is flipping the bill I guess you take what you can get with as little out of pocket cost to you. I would recommend looking elsewere.

I said Aeroservice shot the best price BUT I didn't recommend them.
From everthing I have observed on this board I would suggest High Power Aviation(DFW) if you want to be one of HERBs good old boys.

I just finish my 737 type with them, they went out of their way to please me, I have no complaints about their training system.

ground school 8 days 10hrs per day
Day 1-4 They show you the whole A/C
Day 5-8 is a complete review
You do 12 hrs on the CPT in our case we use the simulator without motion.
1 day off then
you do the ORAL
and then you start Flight training 5 sessions,1 Precheck and the real check.

Aeroservice Training

Just finished Aeroservice training, and earned my 747 type.
I had just come off the A320, so the step backwards wasn't fun.
Sim is a 25+ year old TWA unit. Most sim sessions had some kind of issue ie flashing video, motion going down etc.
The bottom line though with these guys, the people there
were for the most part great, a few are phenomenal. I got through even with a break over the holidays. Simuflite, its
not, but $20,000 it's not either. I've heard the other 74 training companies all have the same issues. So, at least do it someplace warm. After all is said and done, getting the 74 type rocks!
