Anyone ever fly a Aeronca Lance twin or better yet owned one? I am look for one that is fairly priced to buy. If anyone happens to know of one for sale please PM me.
Try calling these guys. Its a little field north of Reading, PA between Allentown and Harrisburg. There used to be and most likely still is a UAL 767 Capt. who has a small pvt strip near there. He has the one that was in the EAA mag. a few years ago. I don't have any names and it might be gone by now but its a start. Good Luck and hope it helps. If it pans out I'd love to have a ride, I'll pay for lunch and beers after.
Lancer built by Champion, got my mel in one in 1962. Will not hold alt on one engine, yoke in the front seat and stick in the back. Flying one just for fun would be OK,but owning one do not think so. If you could find an old Champion DXer you would be better off. Mobs
mobs, did you do the Lancer training in the Wash. DC vicinity with Larry D.? He was always talking about it how many people came to his flight school to fly that thing because it was so cheap.
No,did it at Carpender Airport in CLT(long since shut down)N6899Y. Then on to instruct in it before going on to charter and later in 1965 to Piedmont on the M 404. Now USAirways as a check pilot on the A 330 for 3 more months (hit 60)then looking for a job. I think we charged $22 per hour dual back then,$5 was mine. Mobs
