You just land crabbed, the trailing gear straightens the nose out, you just have to hold the nose up until the longitutional axis is straight. Great airplane for X-C. I have flown one from GGG to Longview, Wash to Calgary, Alberta. Then I flew the same aircraft all over the east coast and Texas. The owner used to let me fly it for gas, all I did was maint. on the airplane. I have landed with 45 kt crosswinds, works like a charm.

Some of the Coupes had rudder pedals. I owned an Ercoupe with a rip snortin 75hp. Continental. It had rudder pedals. They were kinda useless, but it gave my feet something to do. You still had to use the wheel to "drive" it around on the ground.

By the way, the airplane went through a number of manufacturers. There were Ercoupe's, Aircoupe's, Forney's, and later, it became the Mooney Cadet with a single tail and a 0-200 {?}.
