If you are talking about the air ambulance program, then yes, it's about 20 hours a month in an elderly 690A, but there is a fixed schedule (with shifts). It's about par for the course for fixed wing air ambulance.
The charter/management side is different. There, it is primarily aircraft management, so QOL really depends on the owner of the aircraft to which you are assigned. There are some great owners and some, ah, difficult owners. Some aircraft do charter as well, so that mixes things up a bit (both good and bad).
