I was wondering if anyone had any advice to offer me....
I am a current college sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin. I like science and originally wanted to be a doctor coming out of high school but I have made the decision to chase the dream of flying for one of the services and I would like to fly AF and get T-1's or T-38's. I just want to fly military aircraft and be part of the military aviation community... fighter/bomber/heavy I don't care which. I intend to apply for a slot through OTS, and I just started my private pilot training with a local flight school. My current major is Microbiology with a gpa of 3.9. Will the board think this is an acceptable/"technical" enough major? Anyone have advice on anything further I can do to make my package more competetive and improving my chances of getting a spot? Thank you

2 Yr ROTC

It's never too late for ROTC. Look into the two year program. Do it today! You go to summer camp between your sophomore and junior year. Slots for the required 6 week summer training will fill up fast. If you're too late, then sign up for next summer and spend an extra year in Austin. If not that then get you Masters at UT and do the 2 year program.

It's been a while since I've been in Austin. Hook Em Horns
