As I was leaving the hanger today, the dispatch shift mgr told me Active is now Active Global and that the planes were going to be based outta AZ somewhere and that a couple pax DC-9's were going to stay in YIP. Is that true? I don't know about the AZ part, that doesn't make sense unless he meant the Marana boneyard. Also heard they won't be doing any offloading of anything DC-9 or bigger and CP was going to get everything now. He said it all started today. What's going on over there? I didn't see any other threads that mentioned the Global name change.

A friend of a friend told me that the Murray bro's were negotiating purchasing USA JET for penny's on the dollar. Not sure if it's true.

Willow Run rumors..

Wow. Some big rumors...

*I* had heard that Murray had sold out to someone, who, I don't know.

As for USA Jet/Active Aero, they did get a contract to fly stuff out of AZ. A few planes, crews and other support staff were going to be based there, not YIP as I understand. (it was a requirement of the contract apparently).

Times are a changin' at YIP. It used to be every time I drove past the airport I'd see an airplane on final or someone taking off. Now, very little activity.

I flew a trip for Active Aero today, still said Active Aero on the trip sheet. I'll have to call one of my buddies down there and get the scoop.

Yeah me too, I dropped off right on their ramp at YIP today, a couple ramp guys came out and seemed to be in a good mood, took our stuff and left.

ABQ is correct. Interesting, would they came over here or would we move over there? Anybody know of any good truck driving schools in the area?

I was in the pattern at YIP on Tuesday night in my C-172 between 1800-1900, not one other airplane took off or landed at YIP during that normally busy time. Things are slow atYIP.

Busy morning

Did a trip for Active this morning and when I drove in at 4something am there was a shorts leaving, a Falcon had just left, a Bandit was taxiing as we got on the East Ramp, then we left and a DC-9 followed after. Guess it's only busy at night unfortunetly. Of course we were all going to MQY. It's a pretty good Friday trip though, be better if we get something else outta here.

at least you flew today gearmonkey. did you by chance go to the aviator in fpr?

Nope, never been to FPR. We have a bunch of planes flying today, they supposedly got a couple quotes on us, you know how that goes.

Hi!

I just flew 2 trips for Active Aero. I haven't heard anything about the name change.

They are bidding on a gov't contract based in ABQ which will need pilots, mechs, and some admin personnnel.
