Accelerated CFI schools

Anyone know of any good accelerated CFI schools, besides ATP? Interested in time to complete and actual costs.

Airman Flight School. I got my tickets there about 4 years ago (CFI and CFII),
they were pretty good back then but I haven't heard anthing about them lately.
They do flat rate pricing, there are no extra charges or hours out side of the
program that you get hit with by surprise. They also had (and I think they still do)
in house CFI initial checkride. They surprisingly did exactly what they said they
would do, not only in their ad's in the flying magazines, but also when I spoke to Shirley
on the phone. I got my tickets in less than 2 weeks, and was back home and working
as a CFI a week later.

One other thing about them is that they are in Norman, OK. During the school year
there are lots of good looking college chicks running around town. So if there is no
studying to do, head for campus and check out the eye candy.

Sheble

Sheble Aviation in Kingman, Arizona, has an accelerated CFI course. I went there for my ATP in 1989 when they were still in Blythe, California. I was in Sunday afternoon and finished by noon with my ATP. The primary thing about a place such as Sheble is you won't receive much instruction or flight time. You have to be well prepared beforehand.

In my situation, I had a friend who went there a few months before for his multi. He gave me all his notes for the Duchess, which they were using back then. I got into our Riddle ASTs and practiced the Blythe approaches for hours. I feel I arrived somewhat well prepared, but still could have been better prepared.

Finally, Sheble is not your father's flight school. The place is very informal and not in the least bit gold-plated. Quite different from what I had gotten used to at ERAU.

AIRMAN FLIGHT SCHOOL....

I will second the above comments, a great program and they have the CFI program down to a science..You will definitely have to put the time and effort into it but the end result is probably better than any other accelerated CFI program out there. I looked into ATP and American Flyers programs and I was not impressed at all. I surely would take a look at Airman if I were you. You can get done in sooner than 2 weeks if your skills are up to par.

John Lair is probably the best ground school instructor that I have had to date, great guy...

ps>> The female oil wrastlin' that takes place weekely at the bar in the Ramada in Norman is a sight to see... Norman is as big of a college party town as they come since OU is right there.

I work at Sheble's for 18 months. Fast, friendly and cost effective. In the end your looking for your ticket, right? If your flexible, study well on your own it is a good choice. www.shebleaviation.com for more info. I think the initial CFI is about $4500 includes everything (including examiners fee) and your finished in 8 days. If your are a little stiff around the collar, you might not like the schedule. It is every changing and flight and groundschool times vary EVERYDAY.
