Not sure where to put this since it deals with cargo and regional...anyway

Just curious on what everyone thinks. Just looking to see what would be the better way to go. My goal is to eventually be the 3rd gen. at NW. (not gonna get into a debate on why them, bash me if you want) Once I am done with school I will have 500/250 or 600/350, depending on how much I fly. All are hiring with around that time. I do know of some pros and cons of each

Scenic is Pt 121 turbine time, but mainly VFR to a handfull of airports, pay is ok.

ACC is PT 135 turbine time, with lots of night and ifr, pay is pretty decent.

Great lakes is lots of flying, quick upgrade, lousy pay.

Opinions?

Depends on the type of flying you want to do. I would go with Lakes. The pay sucks, but you'll have the time of your life and be a d@mn good pilot too. Upgrades will probably be immediate, if/when you get the time, starting this summer 2007 will be a big growth year for them. Since you already have the "in" this will be a golden opportunity for you. Plus, they have CASS if you want to commute.

I also think Lakes is the way to go. I was there for several years and had a blast while I was there. You will become very proficient flying in 121 operations. Many people have moved from Lakes right into the majors.

Good luck

Where are you from? Go to the place that will keep you closest to people you know, commuting around really sucks. Where is the easiest place for you to get hired? Go there. I think it may be true that more Lakes pilots have moved right to majors, but who knows how accurate these message boards are.

We have had a few pilots at ACC get to Fedex, but they had members of their immediate family (i.e. their DAD) get them hired there. I have been at ACC for almost 2 years, I came here in the first place because I had college friends get hired and walk in my resume.

I'd eliminate scenic from the picture, mostly because you do not want to lose your instrument skills.
