My roomate just got back from his 6 Mo and heard in the school house ACA is preparing to go on their own while looking how to aquire 737's. Anybody heard similar? THIS SAID FROM AN INSTRUCTOR!

Well, just consider that there is alot of scuttlebutt out there and most, if not all of it is a load of crap. We kept hearing every recurrent class that came back on the line that we were getting jets any day now. Training perpetuated some of those roomers to keep us on the line to stay focused. Needless to say we are all deadmen walking at PDT now.

Take what you hear with a grain of salt.

I hope yall get the 737's and get a contract to fly them for Airways. I would like nothing more than to see those boys and girls go through what they have been puting us through for all these years.

In my company the wildest rumors all came straight from the instructors. That said, however, I heard a recent rumor circulating that ACA was looking at Airbuses. So, in all liklihood, the rumor mill is simply working overtime since the UAL codeshare seems to be going bye-bye. Either way, good luck.

This is the way I look at it--until my @ss is strapped into the seat and I have a paycheck in my hand it's all bullsh!t.

Exactly!! Whatever "Plan B" really is, I just hope it is big enough to stop the furloughs and bring back the 96 of you guys that are out right now.

yeah...

737's, 777's, A320's...RIGHT...The other day I was checking out the ACA ALPA board with one of my buds and this "smart guy" with some "inside connections" was saying they are expecting 757's on the property soon. He sounded pretty convinced.

Just like a few postings above...I wouldnt believe anything until I was strapped in.

It doesn't matter. Mesa will buy 737's and undercut ACA.

And another thing, our pilot group will sign a TA to fly the 37's at J41 rates for growth.

Remember, a vote yes is a vote for growth. We here at ACA gave management the tools needed for future growth, faster upgrades, etc etc etc.

j41driver,

you hit it on the head, lets get our boys back with growth.

what would be too low to undercut anyone else erjdca?

how about 50/hr fo and 75/hr ca? 1st year? is that too low. you seem to know a lot.

at what point do we scream its too low! we will not fly for that low.

at what point do the 2/3 of this company that make less than 50/hr vote no.

and it will be hard for mesa to undercut us when were flying our own colors.

If the ACA pilot group is presented with the opportunity to aquire "large" airplanes, I can assure all of you that our group WILL fly them for a substandard wage. We rolled over on the TA, and we'll sure as hell roll over on something like that. My guess is, if we got, say, 737s (probably never), our guys would be willing to fly them for about $80/hour captain, 50 or 60 fo. All in the name of growth. Well I won't do it, just like I wouldn't vote yes on that pos ta. Screw this I'm going to medical school.

Good for you. There's a fast-track to the big money! Ever talked to a Doctor? Enjoy the next 7 years living off ramen.

Grew up with one, have a brother who is one...so I've talked to a few. Yeah medschool/residency sucks, and the money is bad at first. But you really can't go into medicine JUST for the money given the rediculous process neccesary to complete training, or if you do, I don't think you'd last very long. My point was that I'm not going to be a part of this downward spiral in the aviation industry. It's a personal choice and I think its a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** good one. People who will fly for nothing deserve to get nothing in return. We've let this get out of hand already. Just try and remember 1) how much money/time you invested to get into aviation and 2) how much responsibility you shoulder every time you carry passengers. Maybe its just a natural progression; maybe salaries in aviation have been too high for years; maybe the airlines' business models just won't support high salaries. So be it. I think I'll fold the hand.

Fair enough

Just as long as you've got your eyes wide open. Since it seems that you're serious, I wish you luck.

You gotta love those rumors that come from the training department! It wasn't too long ago that I heard from one our instructors who is well respected that SkyWest could "look like a completely different company in a few months" meaning that we might be getting "big" planes. While those kind of rumors are no doubt exciting to hear, (hey I admit it, when those rumors were going around here, I got excited) the fact of the matter is that companies like SkyWest and ACA don't operate that kind of business model (flying large aircraft under their own colors). If ACA is forced to go that route they will be facing an uphill battle. Not only do they have to set up a reservation system which is costly, they also will have the additional expense of getting their name known to the public. The general public has no clue who ACA, ASA, Comair, SkyWest, etc. is. ACA seems to be a well run company though and if faced with the challenge of going at it alone, I wish them and their employees the best.

Here's some super-secret inside information.

ACA is going to be flying the old AirFrance Concorde parked on the ramp at Washington Dulles. I heard from one of our captains that we will be flying between Chicago O-Hare and Detroit with the overwater segments above Lake Michigan to be flown at supersonic speeds.

acaterry,

and what rates will you fly the 737s, it wont undercut anyone else?

$900.00/hour soft pay. And no lines with less than 28 days off a month. Except RSV, only 25 for them.
