How much salary giveback does the company want? The industry certainly doesn't need for commuter wages to go down.

Because this will have a pretty important impact on the direction of salarlies at the majors.

The larger the gap between the two, the more crap companies will pull to lower costs.

[Pax] unions have little pricing power. The only chance we have of getting compensation going back in the right direction is from cargo and second tier majors who are still way behind the big three.

The impact for the Majors was brought upon by the dire situations AA and UAL were in. They were squeezed into giving up their shirts. The pilots at Delta, CO, and NW have wisely waited awhile to start negotiations because the situations have gotten brighter in the mean time. I do think our guys at Delta will give up 10-15% to help with the eventual debt payment due in 2005, but it will not be for free---with a contract extension or snapbacks involved. But, you really can't compare the companies to each other---some lost planes during 9-11 and some bought companies that drained them of cash----and some had both. Let's just hope the economy continues to get better and the security of our nation stays intact.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:  ;)
