DULLES, Va. (AP) -- FLYi Inc., parent company of discount carrier Independence Air, said Friday its chief financial officer is stepping down to pursue other opportunies and will be replaced by the company's controller, David Asai.
The airline company said current Chief Financial Officer Richard Surratt will stay on through Oct. 28, to help with the transition.
Asai joined Independence Air in 1998 and has been vice president, controller and assistant secretary since then. Before that, he was the accounting chief at Reno Air Inc.
Shares of the company closed unchanged Thursday at 25 cents on the Nasdaq.
Surrant is the smart one. Guess he told Tommy and Kerry what they didn'tr want to hear. Typical of a carrier going down. Everything is falling into place....for FLYI to shut down....
