Could someone PM me the results; it wasn't posted on the Flt Dept website on Friday.

If the whole list is too long, the junior people in each seat will work.

Any surprises?

===============

Also have the surplussed PFEs selected which a/c they will attempt (who is doing what)? Will they be dovetailed into an existing class or done separately?

My understanding is that the three about-to-be-furloughed PFEs who are going to attempt upgrade will get added to existing classes above and beyond the proffer amounts. The six DC9 F/O vacancies would then be able to take the four S/Os plus the two additional PFEs who were not on the furlough list.

I was also disappointed tha they didn't get the results on the web site last night. I heard a couple of names but they were on the senior side. Haven't heard anything regarding how junior it went.

Todays hotline is interesting. Looks like Joe & Dan are getting along nicely...personally it doesn't bother me a bit; relations couldn't have been worse and it 'appears' like things are getting worked out. But if we are short on 76 guys, how are IROs going to to help if there is no one to do that job? We'll also see if the tentative or final agreements have any furlough protection language

all I know is the 767 training program is running full tilt right now. Note the proffer for more 767 check airmen. That's the bottleneck right now it seems. Heard Hete wasn't pleased to learn we've had 767 trainees sent home for a month or more because all the sim check airmen were flying the Miami charters. Don't think he knew that until the union told him!

From what I've heard, two of the to-be-furloughed PFEs are taking the DC9 FO class, one is taking the July 767 class. That takes care of the only three of the to-be-furloughed PFEs who have the hours to upgrade. If they suceed, that reduces the furlough number from 12 to 9.

One to-be-furloughed S/O is a 64 year old former captain. He will retire. That reduces the furlough count from 9 to 8.

The four remaining S/Os will be able to hold the DC9 FO proffer that closes next week. That reduces the furlough count from 8 to 4.

One PFE who is senior enough to avoid the furlough has been awarded a 767 proffer. That reduces the furlough count from 4 to 3 and leaves one additional PFE who has the hours to upgrade at some future date.

The remaining three PFEs don't have the qualifications to upgrade so they will be furloughed.

The 767 F/O slots went pretty senior. The most junior guy awarded 767 FO was only #20 on the DC9 F/O list. Only went down to #7 on the DC8 FO list.

Does that match up with what everyone else has heard?

Isn't Boja, director of "operations", supposed to keep Uncle Joe apprised of the state of operations. Come to think of it, has Bob ever done his job? As long as that guy is upstairs (probably loves TPS reports) nothing will change.

Yup, there's the problem. DC8 SO's get furlough notices, then find out they're not getting furloughed after all. Standards pilots flying Brazil charters while pilots sit at home waiting for sim instructors.

Hopefully Hete will wise up to the Flight dept vacuum soon.

on second thought, that IRO agreement may have been what they've been waiting for. That will free up line pilots to fly the Brazil thing, I think. I don't know the details on those Brazil flights...

I hear that we have to pay some "landing fees" in cash on that Brazil flight. A management pilot has to be on the crew to carry the briefcase of cash. At least with the IRO agreement it will be only one management pilot, not three.

LJ,

Just so I follow your logic, the Brazilian flight violates the contract so they send 3 Stan guys who have no rights. So now they will send 1 Stan guy (with the $) plus 2 regular pilots, thus freeing up 2 stan guys. Is this right? Could they not have worked around the contract before by either sending a second captain or a second crew? It appears all they were saving is the difference between CA and FO pay for one day. what is that 600 bucks! then they sent guys home from training. . . how much did that cost. Someone who lives in ILN needs to run to BigLots and buy a few $1 calculators and drop them off upstairs.

In any case hopely they like/need the IRO exemption and get motivated to get a contract rather than endless extensions. BUT if there is no furlough protection in it, then count on at least one No vote. There also has to be an end date. That 76 side letter is still a stick in our eye.
