UPS does this a lot. Im in RFD and see the Murray DC-8, Evergreen 747's...ect. Last year we had Atlas 747's, Murray DC-8's. I have herd from UPS that we are suppose to get a World MD-11 for a couple of weeks.

I believe they also ran a 767 for Kitty Hawk on an ACMI lease out of FWA for awhile to LAX.

That trip is still ongoing.

We have an excess of DC8s and DC8 crews so it's no surprise that they're putting some of them to work on charters. I hadn't heard about it before this thread, though.

I heard from one of our GSP commuters that our major customer lost one of their customers to UPS. At least we get to keep hauling the freight for awhile, though I suspect that after the holidays UPS will have enough lift of their own.
