On another note, wouldn't an arbitrator just rubber-stamp an OK on any SLI proposal agreed to by both merger committees, only to be voted down by a less-informed pilot group? It seems that if the committees agree and the MEC/BODs agree, the arbitrator's job will be quite easy.

So the question remains, is this MEC going to do the right thing?[/QUOTE]

The email was just letting everyone know that the MEC wasn't getting involved in the SLI process. The Merger Committee is semi-autonomous and isn't taking direction from the MEC on what proposals to make or what arguments to make. It's all up to the committee. However, if the committee reaches a deal, it IS subject to membership ratification, just like it is at SWAPA.

Great news for all. I hear that the Swapa Board of Directors has recieved hundreds of emails from AirTran guys saying they would take any fair offer and please don't let the AirTran MEC screw this deal up.

A membership vote will certainly help make this thing go smoothly. I don't think anyone wants another Transtar or Frontier repeat. Lets get this thing done and move on.

The AirTran MEC decision to let the MC do the deal and allow a pilot vote is great news for every pilot involved. Good Job.

Could you substantiate this "rumor"?

Ty I don't know how to tell you this because you seem to bleed Airtran. Our pilot group is soft. I don't know if you missed the last contract vote. It was industry trailing and passed by 86%.

I think you should prepare yourself for the worst case scenario.
